Awie Married Again


Rock singer Awie has confirmed that he is engaged to Sharifah Ladyana, who is also known as Lady.

According to The Star via AsiaOne, news of his engagement broke when a photo of the woman in an engagement outfit together with Awie's two daughters started circulating on the internet.

Awie said:
"Yes, I am engaged and all the facts stated before this are true."

The 48-year-old added that he did not announce his engagement previously as he considered it to be a private family matter.

He said that he chose Lady, who is an AirAsia employee, as his future wife to help with his family and added that his children had given their blessings.

The singer was previously married to actress and singer Arni Nazira in 1998 before they separated in 2006.

He was also married to Rozana Misbun in 2005 but divorced later that year.

JJ Lin Best Male Singer



Singaporean singer-songwriter JJ Lin bagged his first double win at the 27th Golden Melody Awards last night, including the coveted Best Male Mandarin Singer award, in what is seen as the Chinese equivalent of the Grammy Awards.

The 35-year-old also snagged the Best Composer Award for his hit song "Twilight" at the ceremony in the Taipei Arena.

This is Lin's second Best Male Mandarin Singer award. He won the same award in 2014.

This time round, Lin saw off less well-known contenders Matzka, Ko Chi-Tang, Namewee and Li Jian.

Looking relieved, Lin said on stage that he will "work harder".

Nominated in four categories for his 12th album "From M.E. To Myself", Lin missed out on the Best Album Producer and Best Song of The Year awards.

Taiwan indigenous singer-songwriter Suming Rupi was the night's surprise winner when his song "Don't Give Up" was crowned Best Song of the Year, beating four better-known hits - including Lin's "Twilight", "A Little Luck" from romantic comedy "Our Times", A-mei's "Matriarchy" and indie band Sodagreen's "That Evening It Rained".

Another surprise winner was Taiwanese singer Julia Peng, who was crowned Best Mandarin Female Singer for her album "Darling".

When the 44-year-old veteran went onstage, she was in tears, saying: "I've waited for 20 years... I thought if it isn't A-mei, it will be Tanya Chua. I will continue to make music for the next 20 years."

She beat the hot favourite, Taiwanese pop diva A-mei, Singaporean singer-songwriter Tanya Chua - who failed to clinch her fourth Best Singer award - Peggy Hsu, Su Yun Ying and Xiao Hsia.

Sodagreen was the night's biggest winner, picking up four of the eight awards it was nominated in for its 10th album "Endless Winter". It bagged the awards for Best Mandarin Album, Best Band, Best Album producer and Best Arranger.

Singers, songwriters and composers from Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia competed in more than 40 categories at the ceremony, which featured a performances by China-born pianist Lang Lang, A-mei and Hong Kong singer Karen Mok.

Sammo Hung In Shanghai









(Shanghai June 13, 2016) As Sammo Hung established his own film studio in Shanghai, his son Timmy Hung and godson Eddie Peng, Jackie Chan, Eric Tsang, Wah Yuen, Chin Karlok and his wife Joyce Mina Godenzi all arrived to show their support for this kung fu star. 

Sammo said, “One of my purposes is to see that the legacy of kung fu will go on in the future.”  

Eddie said he’d do his best for his mentor, but Sammo said smilingly, “You are already a senior member.” 

When asked if he had any plans to work with Jackie and Eric, Sammo said, “We have been cooperating for decades. It will be a joy for us to film together.”  

Eric Tsang urged Sammo to make more kung fu movies, saying, “Kung fu movies are most representative of the Hong Kong movie industry and we can do them better than foreign countries. The legacy must not be lost.”

Indeed, the world came to know about the Asian film industry thanks to the charismatic Bruce Lee who was the No. 1 ambassador of not only Hong Kong but Asia as a whole.

In fact, Jackie Chan and Sammo Hung worked alongside Bruce Lee as extras when they weren't famous back then. Since Bruce Lee's death, the Kung Fu vacuum was filled out by first Jackie Chan then Sammo Hung. Both of them have long outstanding career which last even to this day.

In recent years, they are somewhat being overshadowed by the rising fame of Donnie Yen who achieved the climax of his career in 2008 for the film Ip Man.

Ben Wu Is Handsome No. 1




(Taipei June 12, 2016) Young singer Ben Wu attended the autograph-signing event to promote his 2nd album “Hide and Seek” today.

Two years after the release of his 1st album, Ben was even more popular and drew a great fan crowd to the event. 

Having worked with him in a play before, Allison Lin showed up with a board with the inscription “Handsome No. 1” to compliment on his potential in play and music.

Ben’s bosses Blackie Chen and Andy also arrived to wish him success and improvement. 

While Blackie said that he sacrificed a family holiday to came and show his support for Ben, Ben revealed that Blackie visited him too often probably because Blackie needed some recreation in addition to taking care of his twin babies.

Then in the laughter of the audience, Ben teased himself as the “No. 4” of Blackie’s family.

JYJ's Park Yoo Chun Accused of Rape




Kpop group JYJ’s Park Yoochun has been sued for allegedly raping a woman in the bathroom of an 'adult entertainment establishment' on June 10.

According to Koreaboo, the woman, Lee, who claims to have been raped by Yoochun is a 24-year-old waitress who works there. The person who submitted the legal accusation against Yoochun was her boyfriend.

Lee’s boyfriend stated, “On the night of the 3rd, Yoochun came to the establishment as a customer and she was forcefully raped in a bathroom at the store.”

The boyfriend also submitted her underwear and clothes that she was wearing at the time as evidence. The police have stated that they are still waiting to hear the story from both sides.

Yoochun’s side have denied all allegations stating, “This is a false one sided accusation that is aimed at financial gain.”

His agency official revealed, “Even if he suffers damage to his image we don’t want to get involved in such business. I told them (Lee’s side) that this is the last time I’ll talk to them.”

Gangnam police have stated that they will study the evidence provided by Lee’s side and the CCTV footage before summoning to question Yoochun.

The internet has found Song Joong Ki’s twin in the form of a Chinese flight steward.

The media recently caught a post originally posted on various online boards in China, after photos of a flight steward who looked a lot like Korean actor Song Joong Ki went viral internationally.

With the popularity surrounding Song Joong Ki these days, fans cannot help but also admire the flight steward who is currently working for China Southern Airlines. 

The young flight steward is named Feng Ming and born in 1994, reports Koreaboo.

They both did look quite alike at first look but after closer examination, you would find that the flight steward is skinnier while Song Joong Ki manifests much more masculinity.

According to Koreaboo, he expressed an interesting revelation during his ongoing tour around Asia. 


On June 6, Rain performed for his fans in Macau, China as part of his concert tour and was asked about the most important thing in his life.

The singer and actor replied, “The most important in my life is my family, second is my girlfriend, and third is my company president.”

The singer and actor is currently dating actress Kim Tae Hee.

Rain and Kim Tae Hee have been dating for the past three years and has recently shut down rampant speculations of them tying the knot soon.

Humble Ming Dao






Successful Taiwanese actor and model Ming Dao earns over S$21 million a year but still stays humble.

According to The Star, the hunk was spotted in Banqiao Market in New Taipei City squatting at his mother's stall and helping her sell potatotes.

He was dressed in a T-shirt, shorts and slippers, an image that conveyed that there were no airs about him.

The 36-year-old is a filial son and started helping his mother when he was in Year Five.

Since then, he has been the one supporting his family after achieving fame and success as an actor and model.

Before netizens attack him for still making his mother work, she actually stopped working after he became famous but returned to selling potatoes because she was bored at home.

Being the great guy that he is, he supported her decision and even helps out when he can.

Not many celebrities can go down to the streets as normal people especially after achieving fame and success. Qualities exhibited by Ming Dao are truly honorable and deserved great admiration.



Jay Chou Vs Show Luo



At the 2016 Hito Music Awards, Jay chou won the Most Popular Global Chinese singer award while Show Luo walked away with the Most Popular Male Singer award.

The two went head to head on stage to prove who had the better hosting skills and started throwing questions at each other.

An awkward moment occurred between them when Jay suddenly out of nowhere asked when Show is planning to be dad.

The question caught Show off where he just laughed and walked off the stage.

Daniel Wu In Warcraft




(Beijing June 1, 2016) At the presentation of the movie “Warcraft: The Beginning”, its director Duncan Jones showed up with major actors Daniel Wu and Paula Patton to meet the media after autographing kindly for the fans waiting outside. 

As a fan of the original video game series for 20 years, Duncan admitted that he had prepared for the movie long ago. 

When asked if Daniel was a player, he said his wife Lisa S. was. He revealed that he had promised not to work in the year she gave birth to their baby, and so she said no when he told her that there was an audition. 

But when he said it was for “Warcraft”, Lisa reacted, “OMG, you must play it!” 

Therefore he did the research together with her, and she was excited even on seeing the props. 

Although his fans felt sorry that he played the ugly orc warlock Gul’dan, Daniel enjoyed wearing a new face, “I feel bored when I see my own face every day.”
